I love pickles!! Almost any kind of pickle.
This spring I have decided to plant a pickle garden. What's a pickle garden you ask? It is a garden where you can grow every kind of pickle.
Hot Pickles: All you have to do is sprinkle cayenne pepper around the plants when you put them in the ground.
Sweet Pickles: Mix a fair amount of sugar into the soil when you plant your pickles.
Bread and Butter Pickles: These are a little tougher to grow because the birds keep eating the bread crumbs you mix into the soil.
Garlic Pickles: These are pretty easy to grow. The smell alone keeps the birds and insects away.
Dill Pickles: You can either sprinkle dill around the plants OR actually plant dill around the pickles. Either way seems to work well.
Sour Pickles: These require a bit more attention. You have to squeeze fresh lemons and add the juice to the water when you water the pickle plants.
Baby Pickles: Whether you have baby pickles or adult pickles depends on when you pick them. I actually prefer baby pickles, but the choice is yours.
How to eat pickles: Plain, on a sandwich or hamburger, mixed in tuna or egg salad. The options are limitless!
Pickles are like people. We all start out the same, it depends on what you add to yourself to make yourself unique and special. Are you a sweet pickle, a sour pickle, or a garlic pickle which will scare everyone away?
