We were well known professional photographers for many years. The day before Senior portraits were due for the yearbook, we would get a flood of phone calls wanting to schedule their child's Senior portraits...today! This is the same child that they have been raising for 16-17 years. They knew at some point their child would be a senior and need to have their portrait taken, yet the parents would wait until the last day to try to get it done.
We finally had to enforce a policy that "lack of planning on your part, does not constitute an emergency on my part." Here is the next available appointment... We probably missed a few jobs because of our policy, but we kept our sanity. People in the area learned to call ahead if they wanted us to do the photo shoot.
You can't live in the past, it is already gone. You can't live in the future, it isn't here yet. You have to live in the here and now, it's all you have and it is a "gift"...that's why it is called the "present". You can make plans for future events, but you can't live there. Enjoy the here and now...even tomorrow is not guaranteed. ~just mary
